Designed to place between your power pack and 12v camp fridge / electric cool box using the cigarette lighter plug. Saves energy by timing the “ON” and “OFF” period depending on your needs.
The unit is fully programmable enabling you to set your own on and off times in seconds, minutes or hours. Ideal for use with a budget camp fridge which does not have a thermostatic control.
Real test case:
Here are the results of a how the Nagonic Fridge Power Saver reduced the power consumption of a low cost 24 litre, 12v electric coolbox by 60% whilst maintaining the coolbox temperature between 6 & 7 degrees centigrade!
We setup the Fridge Power Saver to 600 seconds ON (10 mins) and 900 seconds OFF (15 mins) and kept the 40W electric cool box on for a 2 day test. The cool box temperature was monitored using a wireless sensor placed inside the unit.
Once the electric coolbox reached 6 degrees it maintained its temperature between 6 & 7 degrees for the test period even opening the unit occasionally as you would when camping.
The power consumption of this electric coolbox is rated at 40 watts at 12v although we measured 50 watts on our tests. This meant the current draw from a 12v battery was 50/12 = 4.20 Amps. Running this unit continuously would soon drain your battery but using the Nagonic Fridge Power Saver, it reduced the current consumption to 1.68A, and still maintained a temperature of between 6 - 7 degrees celsius.
